Hi Adeel:
Let me be the first to post a comment.
Actually, I think that you’ve used a number of “tricks” in this e-mail, like:
- Use of the word “rare” or unique, never before seen, etc. … you get the idea
- Attached the name of a celebrity or well known person to pique curiosity
- Picked a “hot off the press” topic or theme that’s highly visible in current news events
- Implied that something was enclosed/attached and FREE
- Last but certainly not least … you used your brilliant charm in the subject line
Cheers
Wayne
P.S. Although I AM Canadian (from the beer commercial), I’ll still wish you a Happy 4th of July!!!
(Oops, I almost forgot … isn’t that when the colonies broke away from Great Britain?)
Hi Adeel,
A 20% open rate is incredible! I think you get it done with the title…it implies there is going to be something funny inside (heehee shamon) come on who wouldn’t open this email. Everyone like a funny email! Then you used “rare pics” of a celebrity…so we could possibly see funny, never before seen pics of Michael Jackson.
Seriously, love him or hate him funny is funny and who doesn’t like funny.
After people make to the end of all the pics then…BAM!! NEW PRODUCT
I thought it was truly brilliant and wish I had thought of it first! Don’t be too surprised if there are a few copy cats out there.
Happy 4th of July,
Bob

Hey Adeel,
I think you were making this message clear, that anything related with Michael Jackson will sell awesome during these days!
Cheers,

Hi Adeel,
This is Everest John Alexander http://FreeNewbieTips.com/blog
Here are the techniques you used to get the 20% open rate:
1) The use of a “power word” like ‘rare’ to get people’s attention and curiousity up.
2) Using a piece of current news that people are already interested in like ‘MJ’s’ death (and life)
3) People are very visual oriented and love to see photos and videos as opposed to just reading text so, making your email about photos is brilliant.
4) People love the sound and sight of their own names so, using the person’s name a lot also helped.
5) Using the piece of the song at the beginning was also ingenius because it helped to establish rapport with the email recipient (because it’s so popular).
6) The subject line also incorporated a little bit of humor, (Heehee, Shamon, Everest) which always helps to get people warmed up to you. At least it did for me.
That’s it!
Hi Adeel,
First, you used a popular topic about a celebrity to pique our interest. Using the word “rare” made us think that these were probably pics we hadn’t seen before even though everyone’s talking about MJ these days. Second, you got us to visit your blog AND leave a comment with an ethical bribe–the chance to get your upcoming software for free. This further led to us sneaking a peek at the software, further convincing us to buy it when it comes out.
Overall, it’s a clever way to get more traffic to your website.

Using current news including such a hot topic as Michael Jackson. Rare pics. Who’s not going to open it? Only someone who doesn’t read the subject line.
Cheers and congrats on the new daughter. I’ve got five, much older than yours.
Michael
Hi Adeel
The hidden message is to spark curiosity with the e/mail title. THX Will
Hey Adeel! Thank you for sharing those awesome pics of MJ! I am adding them to my personal collection ASAP. His music is timeless and he will live forever in everyone’s hearts.
As for your impressive open rate here are my thoughts.
1. Your Headlines - you have a way of creating urgency with your headlines and you also CAPITALIZE phrases/keywords and sometimes encase them with brackets to make them stand out. Using a current event story such as MJ and rare pics would peek anyone’s curiosity.
2. Use of Pictures and Video - you combine the use of video and pictures with a good portion of your emails. This helps your emails stand out even if you are sending some bizarre pics about computers???
3. Humor - i don’t think there is any other list owner, who’s list that I am on, where they can inject some humor into their email marketing. Plus the accent is too die for:) Keep em’ coming!
Wow… my answer is “All of the Above”
Tee Hee… do I get the prize now?
And you Smarty… you got us all looking
at what you did and analyzing it.
That is something many of us rarely do.
My answer would be “That you promised content”
Personally, I get 40 to 50 Emails a day into
my personal box from all ‘you Gurus’ which would
be a fabulous way of learning from the real pros…
BUT… only about 1 in 200-300 has any vague resemblance
of promising me some form of content.
And a big hint to all you ‘big guys’ how many
Emails do you think we open when we’re getting
200+ ads? Right! NONE.
So Adeel, your promise of something worth while
other than another sales letter should bring you
a much higher than 20% open response.
Thanks for showing us all how to see a learning
experience in everything we see.

Hey there! I watched the video on the new software! I want it bad!! Now, as far as how you manage to get your emails opened….UM >Using CAPS on particular words for one…Using what is happening in current events….what everybody is talking about….also involving the email recipient…the words “rare” and “pics” will usually peak a person’s curiosity!! There you have it!! Can’t wait for my new software!! Thanks!
Belinda:)
Oh…I have another comment!! You used MJ’s famous “hee hee” and “shamon” in the subject line which made the subject a total THRILLER!! The subject is not relevant to Internet Marketing which made it totally “OFF THE WALL” and saying shamon and My Name made me feel as though I did something BAD!! I get it now!! Hee Hee>> Did I mention that I have listened to MJ almost everyday for years!! Thanks for the awesome pictures!
Belinda:)
Hi,
I think the hidden message is in the subject and in the content.
1. The subject: using well-known authority name (in this case - in pop music) and also enhancing it by capitalizing has caught my eyes instantly and surely other eye balls. That even without current news (sad death of MJ) would increase open rates anytime.
Using of rare probably has helped too but not as much as authority name.
2. The content: overwhelming readers with large number of photos and correct captions below them has given you instant expert status of the “go to guy” for (at least) MJ photo material. And virtually you would know more about celebrity’s life and work etc - so definitely any interested would beg you for more.
And that’s it. Well done, I’ve got new lesson, too.
Best regards and a lot of success with your software,
Matt
Hi Brother,
What’s hidden in the email is your ad to promote the MASS ARTICLE CONTROL SOFTWARE and your Blog Site.
The clever technique that you use so effectively, is “Entertainment”.
Using the psychology and underlying logic behind this extreme marketing technique, enables you to come close to mind-controlling your visitors to convince them to buy from you, and not your competition.
Michael Jackson is being hailed as the #1 Entertainer of our time, this is just another way of using your proven formula:
Importance of Attracting Attention
Utilizing the Interest Factor
Planning Your Marketing
Entertainment Application
Hype Generation
Psychological Association
etc…
Nice Job
May God Continue to Bless You and Your Family,
Michael Robinson
Hi Adeel:
Maybe I’ll be the last one to post as well.
Rereading your challenge above, I would say that the “hidden message” is I ALWAYS OVER-DELIVER and this new product will be no different.
Then, you use “the hook” to get people to open your e-mail and voila you have a new product (i.e. Mass Article Control Software) to introduce.
You’re also playing up the scarcity tactic and emphasizing a sense of URGENCY … in other words, you better be on your computer on July 9th @ 12:00 p.m. EST with your credit card in hand or you’ll be out of luck.
Cheers mate!
Wayne
Hi Adeel,
The name Michael Jackson prompted curiousity and that entice readers to read your email. Another thing is that he was a celebrity and legend in the pop world and using the trigger word “rare’pics make people eagle to see them.
You left the ‘best’ to the last, which caught everyone by surprise. What an ingenious way to pre-launch a product. Very well done indeed. Looking forward to your time saving and innovative product.
Good job!
R.I.P Michael Joseph Jackson you will allways have a place in my heart.

Well, I’m the same girl’s comment above the field like the super cool the bad is that this subject brings sad memories to know that he is no longer with us and that we will not see, but it is also good to know that we share with you our feelings and that makes me happy you are a type of online diary and we can tell our secrets at the same time everyone knows it does not matter. A big hug in your heart I kiss huge Thanks! !!!!!!!! *-*
